Weekend Wine Review The Maipo Valley Chile

By
Industry Observer

The Maipo Valley is about an hour out of Santiago, Chile it is in the middle of two mountain ranges, The majestic Andes and the Coastal Mountains. The Maipo Valley is divided into the High Maipa and the low Maipo Valley. There are many wineries here; we visted 3 on this trip more on the individual wineries at a later blog. There are small boutique wineries and the big mass production ones and almost everything in between. The Maipo Valley is known for its lush big red wines. We visited the Principal , Aquitiana and Antiyal wineries. The wines were wonderful and hard to come by here in the states. I am working on aquiring some. If you visit Chile take the time to go to see the different valleys and vineyards they are beautiful and very hospitable worth your time and effort.

Yolanda,

I love your pictures, and I am looking forward to your sharing your wine finds with us.  I also found that Lafitte is in partnership with an Argintinian family and I am going to be looking for those...in the Mendoza region.  A

Good morning Yolanda.  I'll bet those Chilean wines taste even better when you have such great views to look at.

Yolanda, The folks at the vineyards in Chile are wonderful and so nice to you. Chilean wines are inexpensive compared to most and have excellent taste and quality.

Those are nice Chilean scenes, Yolanda.  I especially like those alpacas.  I like how you and Bob simply pick up and go globe trotting every few days.
