The Maipo Valley is about an hour out of Santiago, Chile it is in the middle of two mountain ranges, The majestic Andes and the Coastal Mountains. The Maipo Valley is divided into the High Maipa and the low Maipo Valley. There are many wineries here; we visted 3 on this trip more on the individual wineries at a later blog. There are small boutique wineries and the big mass production ones and almost everything in between. The Maipo Valley is known for its lush big red wines. We visited the Principal , Aquitiana and Antiyal wineries. The wines were wonderful and hard to come by here in the states. I am working on aquiring some. If you visit Chile take the time to go to see the different valleys and vineyards they are beautiful and very hospitable worth your time and effort.
