Christmas in July? Hello....... I thought Christmas started in October, right after Halloween? I don't think it is me. Whatever prompted merchants to expand the calendar doesn't work for me. I like to experience things as they come. Planning is good but over planning is crazy. This may not matter to you but I am living this summer and not this holiday season now. Just saying......
We have some hot weather in Maryland and Christmas is far from my thoughts.

Good Morning Sheila Anderson
Ditto!! That just drives me nuts, too. When it's 90 degrees out I don't want to walk into a store and see Christmas decorations and no summer items.

Hi Sheila Anderson - My husband was a mid-level manager for UPS. Years ago, my husband would be planning the Xmas season "Peak Season" right now! The company started at the district level with high level guidance. It used to take from now until mid September to get the plans in place and then they had to be implemented. Nobody liked it but it had to be done. The volumes spikes for 2 full weeks and you need to have plans in place for that.

All I can say, Sheila, is that personally I hate it! It's bad enough I start to see Christmas stuff come up in stores before Halloween.

Amen to that ! It drives me crazy when I go in a store and see Halloween in August followed very shortly by Christmas! One of our large department stores just sent me an add about Christmas in July ... I deleted it LOL.

Sheila I think it was right around Labor Day last year that I walked into a home decorating store (in 105 degree heat) and there they were.......lines and lines of fully decorated Christmas Trees. Really folks? That's really pushing it.

Not my idea of getting into the 'holiday spirit' when it is hot & humid. Stores can do as they please but I will wait until cooler weather.

The local Farmers Market does one Saturday as Christmas in July. It seems appropriate because vendors bring giftware and crafts that make great gifts.

I'm still trying to enjoy July hot dogs and baseball.
Forget even thinking of Christmas
