Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Richmond, VA
Dolores and I were in Williamsburg. On the way home to Maryland, we stopped at one of our favorite travel destinations, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia.
The gardens are beautiful and are a wonderful place to photograph flowers. During the summer months, the special exhibit in the Conservatory is Butterfiles Live! This indoor exhibit allows visitors to get up close to hundreds of tropical butterflies and explore their origins, preferred habitats and lifecycles. We, of course, like to photograph the butterflies as well as the flowers. I will post some butterfly pictures in a future blog.
You know that I enjoy good food and we recommend the Garden Café for lunch during your visit. The Garden is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Hours are extended to 9 p.m. on Thursdays during August.
Don’t forget to allow time to visit the gift shop before you complete your visit.
