Throwback Thursdays - Presidential Dogs
I am talking about politics here but about the canine variety. On a recent trip to D.C. I got to take a tour of the White House. It had been 35 years I had visited the First Family's home and noted some changes. Security was much more intense with about 5 layers of screening to clear.
While waiting to be screened for entry I got to see the Presidential Dogs, Bo and Sunny. They are beautiful animals and very poised and well behaved. They were taking their morning walk accompanied by their assigned Secret Service agents early on that Tuesday monring. I had to wonder if the agents resented having to do this duty or considered it the highlight of their day?
Both of the dogs are Portuguese Waterdogs. They are hypoallergenic. Bo is a male that came to live at the White House when he was few months old. He was born in 2008. Bo has white markings of sock feet and a white chest. Now Sunny is a good compliment to Bo. She is all black and of good temperament. She came to the White House as a pup in 2013 to give Bo some company.
Bo and Sunny Obama were the only members of the Presidential Family we got to see on our trip. Since I love dogs I consider this a real highlight.
