Embrace Your Own Delicious Ambiguity

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Delicious AmbiguityI love studying the lives of others and quotations they come up with to learn from them. One is from Gilda Radner, great comedienne from SNL, who went through ovarian cancer, with it being misdiagnosed, went into remission, and then came back.

She had SO MUCH frustration inside her.

BUT she taught us about AMBIGUITY. The fuzziness of life, the not knowing, the coming to acceptance when life's path goes sideways or takes unforeseen detours.

I so laugh with mentors and seminars that say to get from point A to point B do this. The zig zag line they omit, or that you MAY NEVER get to point B. God laughs at our plans. We have to shoot for something but not have 100% expectations you will land there.

Gilda especially poked fun at what could only be described as incompetent doctors who for 10 months could not even seem to get the diagnosis right. In real estate, we see transactions take all sorts of side trips and can question anyone's competence including our own some days. But this is all the human experience of ambiguity.

Watch for this haziness, this lack of clarity SOMETIMES, in you own path, and KNOW that it is normal. It may not feel real comfortable but IT IS THE CARDS we are dealt. Our job is to play our hand to the best of our ability.

Gilda

Where is the LOVE BUTTON for this post Gary? Gilda was an amazing woman who offered of her true self quite often. She left this world much too soon!

There's that mentor thing that you so dislike! Gilda IS a mentor for us...a continual inspiration. May we all have the ability to continue to reward others with our lives, long after we depart this plane.

I am glad Roy Kelley reposted this. There are so many good posts each day on AR  that I miss. A Kellerism is to aim high so you have a chance of hitting your mark. You and Gilda are absolutely right though.  You can aim all you want and not hit the mark because of intervening circu, stances.  That is when it helps to be philosophical about the effect of life's vicissitudes.

but we are all in a better place for having a goal and going someplace with a little more purpose that just drifting wherelife is going to take us

Hello Gary - "delicious ambiguity" is such a great term.  The explanation by Gilda Radner and expanded by you is one that is meant to be embraced.

Carol Williams - a few weeks(maybe longer) you had a segment in your SCS Second Chance Saturdays post about looking back at some older published posts that may need a re-acquaintance.  I think this post might qualify should you deem it eligible.

Good  morning Gary. You have to play the cards you are dealt. Just because others do not give their best effort is no excuse for you! Enjoy your day.

I'm glad Carol Williams included this in her weekly Second Chance post. Our lives do zig zag and we don't know if we will make it to where we want to go. Which is why enjoying the journey should be the goal.
