I am hoping for clarification on this issue. I glanced over an article which said that the HUD Secretary has decreed that if you use only a criminal background check to deny a rental applicant that you are discriminating and might be subjective to a suit alleging so? Is that the same way you understand this issue?
I chatted with our San Antonio Board Attorney the other day and thought that is what he said but wanted to see what other Realtor Property Managers across the country thought and how they interpreted this rental policy statement from the HUD Secretary.
