On Monday I wrote the post below about ending the war on our police. Because a war it is. And the war is REAL. Yesterday evening I turned on the news to find out that yet another police officer was shot and killed -- in Kansas City this time. At WHAT point will this end? How did our country come to this? And why have our leaders not stood up and made a true cause out of stopping these egregious killings?
I can only repeat:
Police lives matter! Blue lives matter! All lives matter!
The war on our police must end! The war on our police should never have started in the first place. And we should have no doubt--a war this is. I never use my blog as forum to comment on societal or political issues, but after yesterday's news of the ambush and killing of three police officers in Baton Rouge just days after the assassination of Dallas officers, I'm feeling as if I'm living in some alternate universe. Not only am I completely repulsed by these senseless and heinous attacks, I'm very frightened that the fabric of our society is being ripped apart day by day. If it's ok to kill police officers today, whom will it be ok to kill tomorrow or the day after? The war on our police must end NOW!
Police lives matter! Blue lives matter! All lives matter!
