The average price for Eagle County residential real estate through March is $1,472,957; this is a 40% increase in the average price over last year at this time.
This increase in the average price is due to 8 residential properties that sold this March for over $4 million - that makes a total of 25 properties selling at over $4 million in January, February and March of this year.
There have been 380 transactions thus far in 2008, a decrease of 42% from last year and a decrease of 40% from 2006.
There were 6 transactions of commercial property totaling $40,565,100 that sold in March, the largest selling for $30 million.
This brought the total dollar volume for March to $228,388,700.
Lionshead and Beaver Creek are the two areas with the highest dollar volume thus far in 2008: Lionshead has sold $109,603,000 through March, largely contributed by Arrabelle; and Beaver Creek has sold $81,786,000.
March highlights:
Single family homes averaged $1,795,659
Multi-family homes averaged $1,210,556
Lionshead had the highest dollar volume at $43,570,000
Eagle had the most transactions with 22
