Today the San Antonio Board of Realtors Global Committee hosted the city of San Antonio's Chief of Protocal and Head of International Relations Sherry Dowlatshahi. Ms. Dowlatshahi gave a fun, fact laden informational talk on our city's current expanding activities reference our international connections and how our strategic location was proving a boon for our exciting, new global opportunities. While it is true we have only one full true consul in San Antonio she noted that we have 7 honorary consuls ( UK, Belgium, France, Germany. Namimbia, Guatamala, and Belize). And in the last year or two- German, Canadian and Czech companies has either seriously looked at our city or actually moved their headquarters to San Antonio. Additionally, she noted that 2 Japanese companies have just chosen to make San Antonio their American headquarters. She also mentioned that we are seeing increasing tourism from Brazil and China. At present San Antonio has nine sister cities and four friendship cities.  Interestingly while the pace of international activitiy for San Antonio has increased dramatically recently, San Antonio actually had a sister city even before Sister Cities International was founded in 1956. Monterrey had already become our sister city in 1953.

What a great update on the Alamo City's continuing amazing journey from historic, culturally rich and renowned, charming but somewhat sleepy town to a top international city ready and able to reach out interact, connect and compete with cities from across the globe.

Thank You Ms. Dowlatshahi for your talk. Please come again.
