HARRY’S SOCIAL MEDIA SUCCESS STORY AND BEYOND
I did not embrace social media until 2009. I heard about blogging. However, I did not understand it so I just continued with print media. However, statistics continued to state that print media was dead and social media was the way in real estate sales. So, I had to make a choice in my business to either continue to invest in print media or join the social media highway. I decided to embrace social media. My recent blog post HARRY’S TOP FIVE REASONS WHY REALTORS DO NOT DO SOCIAL MEDIA inspired me to share my thoughts about reasons why I did not do social media.
I love marketing so I explored all the different areas on the correct way to do social media. My social media marketing in 2009 combined the following
- 4 different web sites
- ActiveRain blogging
- Facebook ads to promote the business
- Top rated Real Estate and Beyond radio show
- Full time marketing assistant
- Investment workshops every six weeks
- Video blogging to show people what I do when flipping homes
- Weekly investor breakfast every Tuesday
I was very busy by combining social media with my weekly talk radio show. My biggest success story was one phone call allowed me to gain a new relationship with a Canadian investor group that was searching for a local real estate agent to enter the Phoenix real estate agent. This person read one of my blogs who had to speak with me. She found me to be funny and yet one she could trust. My combining social media marketing plus my radio show allowed me to close over forty closings over a two year period. Linking my blogging to my web sites allowed me to capture qualified leads to close more deals.
I decided to enter the world of property management to explore this niche and need for my investors. My solid operations experience that I gained in “Corporate America” allowed me to be very successful in property management. Today, I have opened my own real estate brokerage that focuses on three main areas here in Phoenix real estate market
- Management
- Sales
- Development
This relationship with the Canadian real estate investors allowed me to assist with acquisition, rehabbing and now conduct property management. This relationship has allowed me to market and sell their assets off during the current hot Phoenix real estate market. They gained significant returns over the last five years. I will be ready for the next down Phoenix real estate cycle.
Currently, I am rebuilding my social media marketing plan on building three new Wordpress web sites to focus on my Phoenix real estate niches. I had to take a break for the past three years due to family duties. I wrote a blog “Harry, Where Have You Been?” This explains my break from social media. However, I am building my social media marketing plan right now so I can market my new business. Having several web sites allows me to blog and hyperlink my web sites together so I capture better qualified leads.
This will be my second time in developing a better and more successful social media marketing plan. I have hired experts when it comes to Wordpress sites and social media marketing so I do not do it alone. However, I will create my own content 100% on all of my web sites so people know that it is me and nobody else creating my content. It is well worth it to me. I am looking to relaunch my Real Estate and Beyond radio show in the fall this year.
