San Antonio has a great many parks and recreation areas. One of my favorites is MacArthur Park which is located at 1611 NE Loop 410 (Harry Wurzbach and Nacogdoches). This compact park (by Texas standards) is a tree shaded oasis just off the busy 410 loop and has so much to offer San Antonio natives and visitors alike. The park has 4 pavillions available for lease, two kitchens again for lease, multiple picnic areas and two tennis courts. As I previously mentioned this is one of my favorite San Antonio parks and the sight where we the RESupermen held our own charitable fundraiser - Hot Dogs for Homeless Dogs - which was a smashing success. (Ok so we are proud of this event.) MacArthur park is welcoming, accessible, inviting and offers a shaded refuge from our hot summer weather. And it is a great spot for a luncheon break, a weekend picnic or afternoon reflection. MacArthur Park is also a great place to enjoy a scenic walk. And the Scottish bagpipe group often uses one of the pavillions as a site to
meet and practice adding a lovely background sound.
