Another one fills the coffers.

Just to let you all know that this market is not as bad as some are saying.  My partner Linda Mullis and I just closed another one for Magnolia Signature Homes yesterday.  This makes five in the last six weeks with a couple more in the works for this month.  We meet to finalize a contract this week on another.

Remember, I have said before, we can influence thie market we are in.  We recently had an opportunity to sit in with a panel of top people from our industry to find out what the best ways of doing business is today.  Guess what they were able to tell us?  Nothing we have not heard in different ways for as long as we have been in business.  Make contact with people, follow up contacts with people, ask for new contacts for prior contacts, ask for the contract or offer (any offer is better than nothing) and the offer might just be accepted.  A couple of the off the wall ones were accepted recently.

What is it that has changed?  Not a thing really.  Maybe the only thing is that instead of taking orders from people knocking on out doors, we have to go knock on their doors now.  We should have been doing that all along anyway.

Climb on board, pull the whistle, release the steam, and let's move on down this track.  The rails will never get wider or closer together.  They always stay the same as does the rules of our game.  People have to live somewhere, all we have to do is assist them in finding the proper roof over their head.

WOW, I love this business.

Yes, just doing a better job and getting homes sold is a way to impact the market and demand for homes.

Great post Wayne, and it's really funny because just yesterday I told David that instead of taking a chance on running into agents at the office, why not just pick up the phone and give them a call to introduce yourself as a way to get to know them.  What could it hurt?

Thanks for the encouragement.  I find that the O'Fallon, MO area is doing well, also.  Homes are selling!  :)
