Our San Antonio Botanical Garden is well known nationally but sometimes locals tend to forget how extraordinary it is. The Gardens are on 33 well maintained grounds and introduce Texans and Texas visitors alike to the many plants that flourish in the very different regions of the 2nd largest state. This is featured through The Texas Nature Trail. And it is one of the many varied and interesting plant areas in our Botanical Garden. For example there are many different areas at the Botanical Garden there are -
Formal and Display Gardens, a Rose Garden, a Japanese Garden, a Sensory Garden, a Wisteria Arbor, a Concert Lawn, an Amphitheatre, a Lovely Fountain Plaza, a Palm and Cycad Pavillion, a Cactus Garden, a Desert Pavillion, a Water Saver Garden, a Children's Vegetable Garden, the Lucile Halsell Conservatory, the Northrup Tropical Room, and the Kleberg Desert Pavillion and this certainly does not include all of the many different plant areas.
One of the San Antonio Botanical Traditions that I most enjoy is the plant sale that the Botanical Garden hosts during our annual Fiesta. So many interesting plants and most are well suited to our dry San Antonio summers. It is one of my favorite Fiesta events.
The Botanical Gardens are open year round from 9 am - 5 pm with just a few exceptions.
