Early morning commutes in North Idaho Stressful

NOT !

As I prepare for the 2016 WaCanId bicycle ride I can not help but appreciate the beauty that surrounds us in North Idaho.  I am not traveling miles and unloading my bike.  I am walking out my door with my bike to enjoy these early mornings.  It is supposed to be called training.  Imagine this being your ride to work in Sandpoint Idaho from Naples Idaho every day.

Good morning Dorie,  My 'racing' days seem to be long behind me. The challenges and enjoyment of these rides may be a new found passion for which I may enjoy many years.  It was funny with my Chafe ride when someone was asking if the highway traffic made me nervous and then added it probably helped having other riders on the road to bring drivers attention to the bicyclists.  I had to laugh because being one of the last riders I was the one running 'blocker' for all those ahead.  There was a time not too long ago that would have bothered me.  I am content with it now.  Can't even begin to tell you what a mental break that is for me.  Make it a great weekend.  And thank you again for participating in the '4th contest'  Mark

Oh my.  I bet the only traffic jam you get on that road is when a gaggle of geese decide to cross over.  Gorgeous!

LOL Belinda Spillman .  I actually did do a twitter pic with turkey family crossing a road and referred to the North Idaho traffic jam.   Make it a great weekend.  Mark

What a road to enjoy riding on, and to not have to worry about heavy traffic. I would be tempted to stop reguarly to take photos.

I am supposed to pick up my bike today - in for cleaning and a tune-up as it's just been sitting in my garage for years. Getting ready to start riding again!

When first reading your title line, but before seeing the pictures, I wondered what in the world could be stressful in Idaho.  And then, those gorgeous photos. I especially like the second one with the mists!

CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the Old Farts Club group!

If I was a younger woman, and someone had shared all that beauty to me, such as you just did, I wouldn't have hesitated to pack up and move to Idaho in a heart beat! That's my kind of lifestyle, a true signature of who I am.

May you continue to enjoy your transportation and the views! Dallas is NO comparison!

Patricia Feager even Coeur D' Alene only 47 miles down the road, while beautiful, does not compare with the scenery up here.  M

Hi Mark- I'm not sure I'd know what to do with all of that peace and quiet...Just Kidding!!!!   It does sound nice, being able to go for a bike ride when you want without having to negotiate morning or rush hour traffic, or have to hoist a bike up on the back of a truck! Have a great week.

I love a rocky beach, that's my nirvana. That's why I think of when I'm on the streets in DC which some 18th century visionary created without seeing how it could go awry.

But I've got to admit, fields, mountains and fresh air....that could work as nirvana too.
