It's Not Worth What You're Asking, Said the Buyer

By

I hear this at times from buyers: it's not worth what you're asking, as though an opinion from the peanut gallery holds any water in Sacramento real estate. For starters, home buyers are not experts. They often barely tour only a handful of homes in Sacramento before making an offer, and at that they're viewing only homes for sale, which has little bearing on the prices homes sell for.

But they have opinions, and I like to hear those thoughts. As a Sacramento Realtor representing sellers, it's good to know where they are coming from, even if it's from outer space. My quest is to get the highest price possible for the seller. If they want to pay our price, they can come over and sit down next to me. If they do not, they can go make somebody else's life miserable.

But for crying out loud, buyers should at least tell their agent if they are married. A married person cannot get title insurance to close without an interspousal deed.

You can read more about this scenario in my personal blog today at this link: How an Interspousal Deed Can Delay a Closing in Elk Grove Florin.

Good morning, Elizabeth -- well, I'm glad the transaction closed.  While they are happening, these "glitches"(I agree totally avoidable) are a pain but they form a portfolio of reminders of discussions that need to take place beteen clients and agents.
