4 Ways to Win Millennial Real Estate Clients

According to 2015 estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Millennial generation numbers 83.1 million, representing more than one-quarter of the nation’s population.

Millennials now outnumber the 75.4 million Baby Boomers in the U.S., and they outnumber Generation X by a margin of nearly three-to-one!

It’s no surprise that Millennials represent a growing share of the real estate market. Winning Millennial clients is essential to the future of your real estate business!

To help you, we’re sharing some tips from Inman News, along with suggestions of our own!

1. Online reviews and testimonials are gold. More than any other generation, Millennials base their decisions on online reviews. Ask your clients to post reviews on third-party sites like Yelp, Zillow, Trulia and so on. When you receive testimonials directly from your clients, be sure to publish them on your website.

2. Use texting. While Millennials also use email, texting is the fastest way to engage a prospective client in conversation. Consider adding a text-based call-to-action to your blog posts, social media posts, email campaigns and website.

3. Blog! According to a joint study by Forbes and Elite Daily, 33% of Millennials rely on blogs before choosing a product or service. Millennials look to blogs and social media for information, and shun traditional advertising. Authenticity is the key to reaching the Millennial client.

4. Once you have engagement with a Millennial, avoid trying to “sell” them on your achievements and experience. They’ve already researched you online! Instead, ask them about their real estate goals, and create a plan for their success. Give them ideas for solving challenges that may be holding them back.

Be a reliable source of information and honest advice, and you’ll earn the trust of Millennial clients!

Since, by and large, they are NOT home buyers, I dion't bother with them. PLUS, they like to do everything on their phones and I don't.
