When I first moved to Georgetown, KY this past fall, I noticed a sign for Bi-Water Farm & Greenhouse right off Hwy 25. This is actually just a few feet away from my subdivision entrance to The Colony. As I drove by thousands of times during the next few months I realized I still didn't know anything at all about the Farm and what they provided. Was it private? Was this something that only locals knew about and are invited to? Did I need to be invited? Maybe it was some sort of commercial-only business. As I drove by, I would peek as far up the way as I could. What in the heck do they do in that cute, little house tucked away on the hill?
Here's what I learned....HECK NO, you don't need an invitation! They are a roadside farmer's market and greenhouse! Simple as that! Go take a look and shop already! They also have family friendly, community seasonal events that everyone should check out. I know this will become our fall tradition for years to come. I'm a sucker for anything fall!
Here is a little info about who they are and what they do. Info courtesy of their website and what is retained inside my little brain from a recent visit. www.biwaterfarm.com.
Here's what they are known for:
FRESH FLOWERS - in the spring, they have a wide selection of plants and flowers for your home and garden. They have everything from annuals to perennials, roses and hanging baskets. For Fall and late summer, you will find mums and pansies that are grown on the farm. They always have the BIGGEST flower baskets too. Those you can see a mile away! They are just out of this world.
FRESH FRUITS & VEGGIES They grow many fresh vegetables and fruits right there on their farm like: sweet corn, strawberries, tomatoes, cabbage, summer squash, winter squash, peppers, chilies, cantaloupes, kale, watermelons and more. All of these are harvested, in season, on a daily basis and added to their store. You can actually have fruits and vegetables in your home and on your table that same day they were picked. Doesn't get any fresher than that! It is so easy to stop by on your way home to pick up some fresh !
FAMILY FUN Fall fest is just one of their specialties!
Dates for fall fest: 9/10/16 through 11/01/16. 9am-5pm.
Adventures on the farm begin when pumpkins and apples start to ripen. They have a fall fest right on the farm with hayrides, zip lines, a petting zoo, a spooky farmhouse and a 5 acre corn maze. Season passes are available as well as school trips. You can also buy your pumpkins and stock up on your favorite fall treats like fudges, jams and jellies. You will be tempted to take home some luscious fall mums too!
Season passes are available here....Bi-Water Farm Season passes
They accept cash and all credit/debit cards. Well mannered dogs are allowed on leashes in outside areas only. Here is more of their FAQ.
