I love where I live in NW Austin Canyon Creek Subdivision!
What a great contest for Noah Seidenberg to host this month in Active Rain.
In 1994 my husband and I built in NW Austin in a master planned community under construction called Canyon Creek. We were drawn to the rolling hills topography, broad tree lined streets and excellent schools.
The subdivision is a prestigious master planned community that boasts several parks, a Junior Olympic pool, tennis courts, nature trails, and top-notch public schools, close proximity to our lakes, major highways, employers, extensive entertainment and dining options.
Now that Canyon Creek is completed we enjoy 1,330+ home sites including 2 gated sections of single family condos and garden homes. I’m proud for family and friends to visit as they drive past our prominent entrance and into our well-manicured Boulevard with its majestic mature oaks and xeriscaped entrances to each section of our community. Our flowering crepe myrtles make quite the statement! Of course I love to show buyers our community..a perfect place for them to call home.
We are fortunate to find Canyon Creek Elementary located smack dab in the middle of Canyon Creek. As a former educator I like to keep a pulse on the curriculum and activities at Canyon Creek Elementary. Since the school opened I’ve served on the Site Based Advisory Board. Jenny Kasson, the principal and her amazing staff are dedicated to ensure students receive the best possible quality education.
Canyon Creek Park offers a junior Olympic size pool, tennis courts, basketball court and play-scape by the pool. The Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Team practices and hosts their summer meets during the summer. Our back to school party is held in August (this year August 21st)and our December annual Tree Lighting ceremony is complete with horse drawn carriage rides and Mr. and Mrs. Santa!
A real treasure for our residents is Trail Head Park a 57 acre City of Austin Park located close to the center of the neighborhood. There is a pavilion for residents to secure private parties, swings, play-scapes, basket ball court and soccer fields, picnic areas complete with BBQ’s and hike and nature trails. It always gives me the warm fuzzes driving by and seeing the facility used by so many friends and neighbors. A great way to establish long lasting relationships..meet..talk and get to know each other.
Canyon Creek is a perfect place to call home.
