How Important Is The IPAD To Your Business?

Homes for Sale in Pineville La

When the IPAD hit the scene, it looked like a game changer. Why waste paper on listing sheets, when you can simply hand the tablet to the buyer. And listing appointments ? Imagine signing electronic docs instead of bringing in a tree's worth of legal paper!

Fast forward several years and two IPADS later. Yes, I still use the tool in my business. But not to the degree I would have envisioned. Most buyers pull up listing information on their smart phones. Listing appointments in office are on the office computer, then sent to the client's phone for signatures.

Now that the kids have commandeered both IPADS, it is time to purchase a new one. For the reasons outlined above, I do not feel the urgency. To what degree is the IPAD (or other tablet) central to your business. What are some Apps you consider must have? Do you think the Tablet device will go the way of the QR Code??

I use my IPad primarily to see a larger view of the map with homes for sale and sold on HomeSnap, when I am showing homes to Buyer clients.

I just refused the QR code when it showed up.  My iPad is currently on my desk beside me as another screen and in use.  I use it every single day.

Jennifer--I was hoping the IPAD would replace my laptop. That has not been the case.

Tammy- I never understood those Ugly QR codes. Glad that fad passed!

I never embraced it, although I did try.  As I am aging, so is my eyesight.  The bigger the better . . . including fonts.  Eyes have grown accustom to the laptop screen.

Carla-- I hear you. My flat screen use to be massive. Now the characters seem smaller and slightly blurry. Darn TV is getting older :)

Doug, a few years ago, I was in the hospital recovering from knee replacement surgery.  While my sister was paying a visit, my iPnone rang with a call from a client who wanted to make an offer on a place we'd seen the week before.  I whipped out my iPad, signed into ZipForms, then put everything into DocuSign et voila!.  Within a few hours, we had a ratified contract.  Yeah iPad!

Hi Doug; I don't use it quite as much as used to, but am never without it. I use it continually to check for new listings when am out and about. Also to pull up listings when out with clients.

Homesnap  is great. You can see the other listings along the way and around a listing you are showing. You know how they always point to something and expect you to know price and details of everything!

I also sometimes like to use it for video editing rather than using my desktop as iMovie is pretty good to use. (There is a learning curve there though).

Doug, I'm late to this party. I am typing this response using my iPad. I have a wireless keyboard and yes the iPad has replaced my laptop. I have a big desktop Mac that I use in my office but my iPad goes everywhere with me. I have an iPhone 5S. My iPad screen is bigger and easier to read than my phone. I am entirely paperless. I obviously use it for showings. You won't find me giving paper listing sheets to buyers. My MLS pays for CloudCMA. I use that format to create buyer's tours. Buyers rate each house and type in comments using my iPad while in the house. A PDF is generated and emailed to both of us. This way they have a record of the homes they visited and their thoughts on the properties while still there. This is especially helpful to buyers new to our area. I have written offers on my iPad while sitting in houses we just viewed. My listing presentations are done using CloudCMA and my ipad. Once again, a PDF is emailed to sellers so no paper copies are left behind. My texts come to my iPad so I can type a response to a client even while showing properties. The wireless keyboard was the game changer for me. All my files are stored in the cloud so I can pull up files from any location with my iPad. This technology has changed the way I do business. Love this little invention.
