I Love Where I Live - Part Time, Anyway
Part of my life is spent in Lake Arrowhead, California...and I love it! Located above the Los Angeles basin at 5100 feet above sea level, Lake Arrowhead has a mild mountain climate all year around. We avoid the extremes that our higher elevation neighbors experience while still getting our share of snow in the winter. It just leaves quickly, leaving plenty of warm, sun-filled winter days as well.
Lake Arrowhead, California is a private lake community. The lake is for the use of the members only and a member must live in the Arrowhead Woods. Membership is only $65/month and gives you the right to launch a boat, join a swim club and enjoy the other aspects of the Lake (for additional fees).
The highlight of the summer season is always the spectacular fireworks display and the best place to enjoy it is in the middle of the Lake, from a boat.
When fall arrives, so does the beautiful fall colors. Yes, we do get fall colors. It's the beginning of the cooler months. The Lake Arrowhead Village has an Oktoberfest each year which is always crowded. The cooler weather encourages one to build a fire and spend the evenings in.
All-in-all, I love where I live, even if it's only part time. I'll share a little secret with you....Mission Viejo isn't bad either. :)
