Wordless Wednesday - Tanzanian Beauty

Yes, great shot indeed. I didn't realize there were elephants in Tanzania.
We saw many in Botswana and they are incredible.

Thanks for stopping by Michael Jacobs and Debbie Gartner and Harry F. D'Elia and Kristin Johnston, Waukesha County Realtor 414-254-6647 and Grant Schneider . There are elephants in Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana and maybe even Rwanda. But their population is dwindling. The intelligence of these beautiful creatures is close to the Great Apes and their ability to empathize even greater. Conservation efforts are underway in all of the southern African countries, because it is financially beneficial to attract tourists but poachers still remain. The potential for total loss is tragic and still threatens them.

Nicely stated, Joanna.
Joanna- I love this photo and it is truly sad that their numbers are being cut short by greedy poachers.
Joanna,
What a beautiful shot of this majestic creature. I have always felt a great affinity for these creatures. A
Good morning Joanna,
A great picture of one of a great animal.
Make yourself an astonishing day.
Joanna - Read an interesting article the other day . You photo reminded me. Did you know Elephants are one of the only animals that do not get cancer
Hi Kathy Streib and Ron and Alexandra Seigel and Raymond E. Camp and Patricia Kennedy and Hannah Williams - the intelligence of these beasts is extraordinary. I saw elephants in Chang Mai Thailand who painted pictures with their trunks and you could understand the symbology. Patricia, I know I used a telefoto lens that was compatible with my camera at the time, a Nikkor of some kind . Hannah, I had no idea that elephants do not get cancer-it must be something in their diet? They are herbivores for sure.

I too adore these gentle and intelligent creatures. I also pray for their survival and protection. Thanks for sharing this one, Joanna. Truly lives up to the title.

I love elephants too Joanna Cohlan - and pray for their protection as well. It's beyond shameful how they are being slaughtered. I do not understand how anyone could harm such a magnificient beast ... or any other animal in the wild for that matter.
How beautiful! The animal and the photo! That must have been an amazing trip!
Joanna, amazing close up photo of this beautiful creature. I see a lof of videos of elephantson Facebook.
Joanna, oh how very lucky you are to be in such presence...forever memorable, even after 20 years. WOW. I love elephants so very much. They are truly family-centered and majestic and smart and sensitive.
I rode an elephant once and was so surprised at all the flies and the feel of his hide and fur. I will never forget it.
Wow, that's up close and personal. What a wonderful opportunity to travel and see wild life such as this.
Good morning Joanna. Those are magnificent animals for sure. I like to look at them but I also like to keep my distance.
Knowing how intelligent and family centered they are makes it even more difficult to understand their slaughter Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD , Kathleen Daniels , Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905 , Sharon Tara and Rebecca Gaujot, the Go To Realtor® . The ruins of ignorance and economic deprivation are everywhere and in many forms. You are a wise woman.
Now, back to thinking loving thoughts for these wonderful creatures.
Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD has it right. I can't go there emotionally...I want to keep the smile that this sweetheart put on my face. (Well, you and Debb, too
)
Hi there Debbie Reynolds and Donna Foerster and James Dray . I did not experience any flies near the elephants - maybe it was just the wrong season Debbie or because they were in captivity. But being in the presence of such majesty in the wild is probably a different experience.
