I Love Where I Live in Oro Valley, Arizona!!

I am very happy to say that, "I love where I live in Oro Valley, Arizona", which is 6 miles north of Tucson.  Oro Valley was incorporated in 1974, so we are only 40+ years old, which I know is like a young'un in terms of other cities/towns in Southern Arizona - for example, Tombstone was founded in 1879.  So we are 'newbies'!

We are a mid-sized college town with the University of Arizona being in downtown Tucson.  Located just 60 miles north of the Mexican border - Nogales, Arizona, and Nogales, Mexico - are only an hour away from Oro Valley.

What's nice where I live here in Oro Valley, is the fact that you have young families, snowbirds, and retirees living in the same town!  What an interesting and fun variety of people - we are very diverse, and enjoy all ethnic groups.

There are 5 mountain ranges in Tucson, and we get to enjoy the Tortolitas ('little turtle') from our backyard, and the Catalinas from our front yard.  I have to share:  "That mountain-view NEVER gets old!!"

Enjoy our beautiful and breath-taking sunsets, as we are known for them . . .  the picture below is one taken from our back patio . . .

Come - visit us, and enjoy Mother Nature, and see why living in OV brings a smile to my face.  Of course, being a 'cowgirl at heart' and 'loving the Wild West' doesn't hurt either!

Thanks Jeff Dowler - I appreciate your kind words!  Yes, I do love it here, as the desert was always a place that I loved, I just didn't know that 'the dream' of living here would become a reality!

Nothing can be more pleasant than to have a mountain view from the windows of the house and being able to enjoy gorgeous sunsets every night.

Thanks for telling us about Oro Valley, Arizona. You should be attracting some retirees from the Metro Area of Washington, DC.

Allie Angeloni Thanks for the real introduction to Oro Valley, AZ. Until now I only knew that Oro Valley was located in AZ but not as close to Tuscan & Nogales. Enjoy your home in the desert.  And I agree it is beautiful.
