We had a local Active Rain meet-up, today.. hosted by Wayne Martin (thank you Wayne)... and it felt like the Olympics had already begun, as we had representatives from four separate states in attendance.
That's right.. I said four! Illinois, I would expect, because that's where we were meeting, and I was surprised that a few showed up from Indiana and Wisconsin (states that share borders with Illinois for those of you who are geographically challenged)...
But one came all the way from California!! That's right... all the way from the left coast. Okay, okay... in fairness, he didn't really come just for the meet-up, but he happened to be in the area, and still drove over an hour to attend.
We ate, we talked... we baked in the sun (whose idea was it to sit on the restaurant's outdoor patio on a day when the heat was in the 90's??)...
Normally, I would post a photo... but I don't want to steal Wayne's thunder, who will likely post pix in his blog tomorrow.
Good times were had, drinks were drunk, food was et... I don't know why we waited so long. Nice to see some fellow rainers.
