Routine is good

Real Estate Agent with John L. Scott Sp34627

Routine is what makes a good agent successful.  A lot of things we do is fun.   Others (such as seeking new clients) is not so fun.   I do not know many agents who love prospecting.

I do best with a routine.  When I wake up I blog and try for a walk.  Then I look at my day.  I need to add prospecting to my routine.  Just like I need my first cup of coffee I need to prospect.

Routines can be easily broken.   I spent time being a caretaker this summer.  I could have tried to keep my routine but I failed.   What to do.  When I break my routine I tend to get despondent.  Getting back into my routine is important for my career and my mental health.

Restart the routine.  My routine shall be:

1) Wake up have coffee and breakfast.  Check my email and Facebook (I use Facebook for real estate).

2) Check the schedule for the day.  Blog if no early morning appointments.  Blogging can also happen later in the day.

3) Walk for exercise.

4) Make any morning phone calls.

5) Prospect for 1 hour a day ( this is where I fail).

6) Meet with clients and do my work.

7) Work on any special projects - prepping a house or rentals.

8) Spend time with my husband.

9) Make sure my Synagogue duties are done (I schedule desert after services)

10) Go to Synagogue on Friday nights.

11) Go to coffee Monday mornings.

12) Go to office meeting on Tuesday mornings and work with my partner.

Wish me luck!

Hi Debbie. I too have a very consistent routine every morning. I feel like I lose a day if I don't get the routine done.

Prospecting is important. People I know already own and few are relocating.

Some are excellent in sniff out home buyers/sellers. Most of us need to work on it.

Good luck with your routine. My challenge with trying to create a routine is that real estate is anything but routine!

Gets the job done!

This is true. Tomorrow will not be routine.  The second funeral of a child in two days.
