Waiting for Jill...

These past few weeks have been crazy busy yet wonderful. Lately, I’ve really come to appreciate those quiet moments when they happen. Last Wednesday I was on my way to the Kent office when I got a text from my coworker pal Jill Bell. “I know this is totally last minute, but do you have time for lunch?”

We’ve been trying to get together to work on a few projects, marketing, and event dates but had to bail at the 11th hour because stuff happens and we’re all so busy. Yes I can! I’m actually just 2 miles up Benson Highway and headed in your direction. Let's do it!

Waiting for Jill...

I was first to show up at one of our favorite lunch spots in Kent, Washington on East Hill. Curry & Kabab is a wonderful locally owned Indian Food restaurant. I’m such a raving fan of this friendly and comfy little place and the most amazing dishes they create.

Incoming text... “Be there in just a few minutes, I have to run by the office first.” No worries my friend. That means I actually get to stop and enjoy being quiet. It’s such a treat these days. I checked a few emails, nothing urgent, then I silenced the ringer and put my phone facedown on the table.

As I looked around the room and took in the wonderful aromas I counted my blessings. What a delightful pause. Sometimes, it’s those quiet little moments that make such a big difference in a day. They matter.

I totally agree. It's so nice to get an unexpected pause in the craziness that makes up life.

Rene Fabre ~ good morning, Rene... I couldn't have said it better myself. Those little "time outs" in our day every so often can totally refresh the mind and spirit.

We prefer the dry version.  Let me know the brand that Washington has in the Gewurtztraminer.  The best California (comes really close to one made in Alsace Lorraine) is Claiborne & Churchill.  It is reasonably priced at $13.95.  And they make an equally good dry Reisling.  A

Hey A... (Ron and Alexandra Seigel) I enjoyed a few glasses of a Dowsett Family Winery Gewurztraminer a few months ago with friends. It's on the dry side, bright yellow, with hints of peach and ginger that starts just a little sweet at first then lingers long to dry. Delicious! It's grown in the Columbia Gorge area at Celilo Vineyard and produced at Buty Winery, in Walla Walla... Total family operation and their production is around 500 cases a year. As I recall, it was @ $20 a bottle.

Amazing how wonderful and precious those quiet times can be when we have time for ourselves in the magic of peace and gentleness. Most of us unfortunately, do not allow that too often for ourselves in our way too busy worlds.

I've been working non stop for several weeks. Today was a quiet day for me. I decided it was time to slow things down and relax a bit. I know about those quiet moments and how important they are.

You are a thoughtful friend - and person. Many would feel impatience waiting for someone who suggested the get-together. Not you - and that is what makes you the special person you are, Rene. Love that this was featured. Well-deserved.
