I always think the local interstate freeways can be better paved. During the Great Recession Feds put in a lot of money to create jobs for road improvement projects. However, out side the San Francisco metropolitan the highway lanes were left as before. If you are on the freeway the pot holes and floating tire threads are dangerous to drive over. They finally got around to resurface highway I-101, a major road connecting several states. The resurface project is not cheap. I heard it costs ~$2M per mile and they have been dragging their feet doing it at night Since Cal Trans can not afford weekend overtime pay, it will keep all its lanes congested longer than tax payers cared for.
I saw this sloppy paint work paid by tax payers. The following is one of the better paint jobs. Not sure why they missed here and there and lines go crooked. Granted they may need another layer and put finishing job some day.
South Santa Clara County I-101 south bound just out side San Jose, CA
This photo above is one of the better painted lanes but have we ever learned how to paint street signs better? I think not.
The following is what I learned about poor workmanship in America. Apparently the bad job have been around for years with and without painting trucks.

As a realtor if we try to list a home not in its best looks leaving chalk marks and graffiti and provide sloppy marketing materials out don't you think your creditability is at stake? The same goes to California Department of Transportation and Department of Transportation. Shame on you,
