HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION~ 2008 IN FLORIDA ~ TELL US AGAIN HOW ITS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

By

I am just interested in hearing everyone's take on this amendment since we will be able to get $50,000 homestead exemption this year.  Is it coming up with your buyers in conversation?  Anyone working with buyers who want to use that portability?  Most people are downsizing in my marketplace.  I only had one couple ask me about it and they were first time home buyers/school teachers.  I thanked God they were not the ones that got laid off just recently.

Ok....lets see what kind of info can be gathered here >>>>>>>>

Patty:  I deal with a lot of buyers from Florida and I've heard a little about this.  I'm going to park here so I can see what others have to say and learn more about this.  Wishing you all the best in one of my most favorite states.

I just explain homesteading like I would with any buyer who is looking at the taxes on the listing... I had one buyer who was also a seller who was asking about the taxes and I spoke to her about portability.   What I do deal with more often is the cap for the non-homesteaders.  That's a plus for my second home buyers.
