Landfill Art Workshop at Lone Star College Cyfair
Lyvia Alverez who is a Lone Star College graduate and local artists will conduct a no charge program on Wednesday August 10, 2016 titled “Landfill Art”. This seminar will discuss upcycling which is the artistic process of creating original artwork out of discarded items such as paper and cardboard. I think this is a leading edge idea and concept for artistic expression.
Lyvia basically uses distressed magazines and various thrown away objects to create layers upon layers in her art work. She wants to create something with an accurate perspective and to impart that feeling to the viewer of her work. .
This class is part of the Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) series which are offered at 10 AM on Wednesday’s in the Lone Star College Cyfair Library. These sessions are held in Room 131 which is directly to the left when one enters the library.
Lone Star College is located at 9191 Barker Cypress, Cypress TX 77433 and phone being 281-290-3200. This is approx. a 20-25 minute easy drive from Katy. Numerous Katy residents attend Lone Star College Cyfair.
This will be a very cool and interesting session to attend and learn new ideas concerning upcycling.
