There are a lot of exciting things going on in the Tampa area these days. One of the newest is the development of Tampa's first "public market hall" in the historic brick Armature Works building- which dates back to 1911 -
located along the Hillsborough River just north of downtown Tampa. Think - a farmers market and local main street shops all under one roof - similar to Seattle's Pike Place Market, Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. and The Oxbow Public Market in Napa, California, to name just a few. The Heights Market will be the first of its kind in the Tampa area and will transform the 68,000 SF Armature Works into an in-house market, co-work space, two restaurants and an event hall. The developers - Soho Capital - envision a space that will be unique for the Heights - a place different from what has already been done - where everyone, tourists and locals alike can come and experience something authentic to Tampa. A place to shop and wander - it will connect the growing neighborhoods of Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights to the downtown urban core through the Riverwalk. Construction is scheduled to begin soon and the response from local vendors has been overwhelming. Stay tuned for more exciting things to come in Tampa!
