2016 Monterey Car Week Schedule of Events

The 2016 Monterey Car Week is already upon us!  It seems like just a few months ago the streets were alive with the sound of exotic, muscle and classic cars from the 2015 Monterey Car Week. The town is buzzing with all of the set up and anticipation of this years car shows, auctions and events.  I have noticed locals getting their prized possessions detailed and ready to show off while the auto transporters have been busy bringing in out of town vehicles for the week.

Whether it is the thrill of the auctions, the chrome of the classics, the speed of the exotics or just the fun of people watching, there is no doubt that you will enjoy yourself while here on the Monterey Peninsula for Car Week!

Monterey Car Week Kick-Off

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca kicks off Monterey Classic Car Week Kick-Off with a classic car show in Old Monterey on Friday, August 12, 5pm-7pm. See 30 classic race cars lining the 300 block of Alvarado…

August 16th 2016 (Tuesday)

Concours on the Avenue Carmel-by-the-Sea

Well over 175 cars will be on display in groups of juried classes during Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue. These will include Luxury Cars, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Sporting Cars. Free Admission

Event Hours: Open to the public for viewing 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM  

Classic Motorsports Magazine Monterey Kick Off Cruise-in

Kick off Monterey Car Week in style with the the staff of Classic Motorsports. They'll be gathering with a few hundred of There closest friends at beautiful Folktale Winery. Bring your cool classic car and enjoy fine wines, food and music. 

Monterey Auto Lux

The Monterey Auto Luxe is an Engaging, High-end, Luxury Emporium taking place during Monterey Car Week. They are bringing you the Best of the Best in Luxury Vendors, World Class Hospitality, and Exceptional Entertainment. 

Automobilia Monterey

The largest automobilia show in America, and the only time during Concours Week to find these 45+/- top international dealers in a single venue. Enjoy the relaxed indoor setting while buying only original vintage posters, photographs, rallye plates, badges & pins, hood ornaments, signs, original art, display items, scale models, literature & books, signed items, postcards, stamps, unique scarves/ties, etc...  

August 17th 2016 (Wednesday) 

Carmel Mission Classic (Blessing of the Cars)

A one of a kind event combining the passion for fine automobiles with the Faith and the Palate. Enjoy wine tasting by some of the Monterey County's finest vineyards, self-guided tour and beautiful live harp music in the background as you stroll the grounds of the crown jewel of the Monterey Peninsula, the Historic Carmel Mission. A no host gourmet food bar will also be available by a local chef. 

The Little Car Show

Noon - 5:00 pm

The Little Car Show will feature Japanese vehicles this year, but we'll accept 100 vehicles 40 years and older, 1975 and older, micro, mini and arcane vehicles under 1,601cc and all electric vehicles. In addition for our 6th annual show we are going to add one block downtown devoted to "Orphan Cars of the Fifties". The show will be renamed "The Little Car Show +", the "+" representing the 1950's orphan cars. Orphan cars are cars that were made by companies that are no longer in existence i.e. Crosley, Hudson, Kaiser, Nash, Packard, Studebaker, Willys etc.

Gordon McCall's Motorworks Revival 2016

August 18th 2016 (Thursday)

Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance Presented by Rolex

Initiated to showcase the elegance of the automobile in motion, the Tour also underscores the early history of the place that is Pebble Beach. Decades before golf links were laid out along the edge of the Pacific Ocean, this area was known for its scenic drive, winding for miles through the pine and cypress forest, dancing alongside dramatic cliffs and leading, ultimately, to a beautiful crescent-shaped bay.

• 7:00 am to 8:00 am - cars line up near Collins Field in Pebble Beach
• 8:30 am - Tour departs, tracing portions of 17-Mile Drive and nearby scenic roads
• 11:30 to 12:00 Noon - Tour arrives in Carmel-by-the-Sea
• 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm - Cars are displayed on Ocean Avenue
• 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm - Tour returns to Pebble Beach

What started off as just a rally, the Italian Stampede has become a yearly lifestyle event where attendees come from all over the world and gather as a group and rally to Monterey for a weekend long of car events. Limited to only 100 Exotic cars this event is a must attend for any car enthusiast.

Third Annual “AIM for the Cures” Dinner at Pebble Beach

Please join fellow supporters of AIM for Mental Health for its Second Annual AIM for the Cures Dinner during the Concours d’Elegance event week. All proceeds go to find cures for kids’ mental health disorders.

Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction

Exotics on Cannery Row

It all began with a vision to bring something new and fresh to Monterey Car Week, and with that EOCR was born. This unique event will focus entirely on the Super, Hyper and Exotic Car phenomenon. With the backdrop of historic Cannery Row and open admission we are creating a whole new destination event for the auto enthusiast and collector alike. A venue showcasing some of the most rare and exciting cars of our time alongside the companies that can take these cars to the next level in performance and showmanship.

Legends of the Autobahn

7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Now in its sixth year, the Legends Of The Autobahn® concours has become a local and regional sensation. In 2011, with the North American debut of the BMW 328 Hommage concept car, the event gained international recognition. In 2012 we saw the debut of BMW’s Zagato Z4 Roadster concept, and there are always many rare models to be seen.

The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering

The crown jewel in a whirlwind of events is The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Since its inception, it has combined a lush setting on a golf course nestled against the Santa Lucia mountain range with exceptional cuisine and the finest examples of vintage sporting automobiles seen during the week. Sponsors provide today's cream-of-the-crop luxury cars to be sampled by guests on local roads, and those who wish can also test their mettle on the Land Rover Experience Driving School off-road course.

The event’s worldwide reputation is confirmed by its inclusion as a finalist in the Motoring Event of the Year category for the 2014 International Historic Motoring Awards.                                 

Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction

Held in conjunction with The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering 2015 The 18th annual Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction will be an historic event boasting another remarkable line-up of automobiles, particularly of sports and racing cars, and more than a dozen examples from Ferrari. 

22nd ANNUAL PACIFIC GROVE CONCOURS AUTO RALLY

The Auto Rally fundraiser is a partnership between the PG Youth Action and PG Rotary.  The Auto Rally was started in 1995.  Through its history, rally beneficiaries have included the Pacific Grove Youth Center, the DARE programs for Pacific Grove and Carmel, Pacific Grove High School driver training scholarships, and other youth programs.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Approximately 550 race cars are invited to compete in the world’s premier motoring event, and are accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.

Werks Reunion

7:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Porsche Club of America will hold its second annual Werks Reunion Friday, August 14, 2015. It is the premier Porsche event and will take place during the world-famous "Monterey Car Week" on California's Monterey Peninsula.

Concours d’LeMons Monterey

An ugly oil stain on the Pebble Beach Auto Week, the Concours d’LeMons returns once again to Laguna Grande Park in Seaside, CA on Aug 15, 2015. Hoopties, Rust Buckets, Misfits, Mistakes and the worst of the automotive world will be on display and as always celebrity judges will be accepting bribes for our Thrift Shop sourced trophies. Hagerty Insurance has inexplicably sponsored the debacle yet again, so its really all their fault. Look for the Hagerty folks to bring a touch of class to this otherwise downmarket affair. The best part is that the show is free for participants and spectators, so you’ll get exactly what you pay for.
