The 2016 VA loan limits remained static at $417,000, except in 235 high cost counties where they are higher, and since Los Angeles is one of high cost county, 2016 VA Loan limits here are $625,500 ( it is not the maximum amount that an eligible veteran many borrow, but the maximum amount that the Department of Veteran Affairs will guaranty without any money down = 100% financing):
