Buy Your First Home: Tips on Writing an Offer

Return to the REALTOR®”s office or stop at a coffee shop to write your offer.

The office may be a long distance away, so may stop at a coffee shop or diner instead.  Besides, all this house hunting has made everyone hungry so maybe you’ll get a bite to eat while writing up your offer.

Or you can go back to your top property if it’s vacant

Instead of stopping at the office, you can just go back to your top #1 property if it is vacant, and write the offer there.  It’s a great feeling to be sitting inside your new home while you write the offer on it; and, while you are there, you may see appliances or items that you need to include in your offer.  It may also trigger additional questions.  However, remember that a vacant house will have NO table, NO chairs, and maybe even NO electricity (which means no light after sunset).

Your REALTOR® can write and sign the offer “on the spot” with her mobile office

If you are working with a top real estate advisor who has a mobile office, including a laptop computer, a tablet, or an iPad, he can simply write your offer immediately and you can sign it on the spot.  With mobile internet, your REALTOR® has access to all the forms needed to write an offer.  She can even go through it with you and explain it as they complete the purchase offer.

If they can't go back to my office where we can have privacy I suggest on line later.  No way would I suggest a public place or a house that could have "eyes and ears"
