White Mountains NH photos of the locals

With Nearly half of the State of New Hampshire being either State or National Forest Lands, I guess it's no wonder the woodland creatures have the run of the place. And I'm not talking about the deep dark recesses of the Forest... no right in my back yard on any given day, we find wild life in abundance.

White Mountain birds

The Birds that come to my feeder are particularly large this time of year.

They don't seem to mind a photo opportunity...so long as food is involved.

John Deer of NH

Our Friend John...is a regular, and we were quite relieved to see him limping over to have an apple... his bad leg has slowed him down, and seeing a wolf near by a few days ago... had us really worried.

fox kids

These three kids were oblivious to me, as they seemed to be fascinated with the Dandelions...and of course a round of wrestling and tumbling in the grass.

yellow finch

It's not to say all we see is wildlife of the large and fury variety...when the seed robbers leave some feed we get feathered Friends as well.

I wait to see what will appear at our little private zoo in the White Mountains of New Hampshire...everyday !!

It is never boring around here...watch and listen...there is always something out side to see and or hear.

Great pictures Steve, those big furry black birds can be a little hard on the feeders.

Btw, nice job with the red fox, I seldom get them to stop long enough for a picture.

Bob... the the fox get much more concerned as they get older the young ones are pretty oblivious to people.

We have Groundhogs, Raccoons, Coyote, and Moose that wonder through the yard...as well, but I don't always have a camera ready... most of the time its sitting at my real estate office.
