If you think we have it so bad with the price of gas.....

If you think we have it so bad with the price of gas....check out what they are paying in these 10 countries:

Belgium: $8.22 per gallon

Iceland: $8.28 per gallon

Monaco: $8.31 per gallon

Netherlands: $8.37 per gallon

United Kingdom: $8.38 per gallon

Norway: $8.73 per gallon

Eritrea: $9.58 per gallon

Bosnia-Herzegovina: $10.86 per gallon

Aruba: $12.03 per gallon

Sierra Leone: $18.42 per gallon

Now if you are looking to buy that Hummer...here are 10 destinations that would make that economical:

Kuwait: 90 cents

Egypt: 89 cents

Russia: 88 cents

Bahrain: 81 cents

Qatar: 73 cents

Swaziland: 54 cents

Libya: 50 cents

Saudi Arabia: 45 cents

Iran: 40 cents

Venezuela: 12 cents

That is quite a contrast I would say....so next time you start complaining about gas prices....think about the people in the upper list...not the ones in the lower!

Pretty sad when CNN reports that gas prices dropped a penny.  What does that say about where the worry of the average American consumer rests.....

Just keep saving those pennies!  someday they just might add up to something!

I have definately started working from home much more often than going to the office if I can help it.  I also make sure to plan out any trips that I can throughout the week to clump tasks and areas together.

Gas UP....

                  no surprise there...

but now that demand is going down in U.S.

                                                                                                              still no relief...

               Food's UP...

just think of the  other prices to adjust because of fuel /energy costs..

like shipping building materials (and making them).. will the bottom come back in the housing market.. if people figure out that many of those homes cann't be replaced anywhere near the selling price?

Don't want to imagine Up NORTH the heating costs this winter..

or surcharges for fuel on the electric bills for even this summer's AC...

LOL.. might be a run on kiddie pools & water sprinklers.. next year if not this year... vacations in the back yard?  not because families want to, but because getting to work has max out all their cards...

MAYBE that pedal car isn't so far out!...   can we get a little  battery powered electric motor .. to help getting up those hills!...

LOL     still think a wind up spring on the pedals wouldn't hurt...

                 ************************

JUST KEEP PEDALING  even  on the way down.....

            ****************************

but

who wants to bet that even shoes aren't going to go up in price?

from the need to replace all the worn walking shoes from hoofin' it to work.

BLR Guy:

Like I said before, the only ones that are making a profit are the oil companies.  The rest of us are headed to poor class.  As long as prices on everything keep goin up and salaries don't, we'll have to soon start to pitch tents, hunt for our own food, grow our own food, etc.  Just get back to the old fashioned basics.  LOL

I checked out bicycles and those are also selling like hotcakes.  Not a very big inventory of those left.

blrguy..

are those 3 wheelers any cheaper if we all order them together in volume?

...oh such a site the future of America will be!

downtown's across America beginning to look more like China & India's past...

they give up their bikes for cars.... Americans back on their feet.

Oh but back to the future... remember those little moped motors on bikes...

That 3 wheeler (with a little Canopy top-( tasteful BLR advertising!)- even tassels if you like) with a big basket on back.. and an electric moped motor- will get you around in town.. about as fast as traffic lets the Lexus get there!

or if the price of gas doesn't let you have enough in your wallet for your "dream machine"  .. there's always the USED moped market  while you  "save up" for the BLR  badged  BEACH  Cruising Bike..

Why..just lookie here!               What about this..

              a slightly used..

only on Sundays when it didn't rain... &

only ridden going at idle by a single old widow lady who wore  clean white sneakers..

and carefully  protected the seat with her handmade lace... (and always stood when she TOOTED!)

a classic  THIRTY YEAR OLD  1977 model?

BUT Sorry ...  you're probably already way too late

probably  weeks ago....

 IT'S BEEN  SOLD  !

 ..... even if she insists

that  her multiple husband's ashes must stay in their box for an everlasting  FREE RIDE!

maybe we better start thinking about breeding some mules or something...

now blrguy... yes some think there's already enough Jackasses kicking around in this country...

but unlike those  stubborn mules.....

let's raise some that you can actually get some work from!

and don't let some nerdy geek  try to tell you that won't help global warming!....    They are eating the grass before it can rot and pollute.. and what other transportation makes its own fertilizer and thus makes it's own fuel!..   your lawn care bill just went to nothing!

Now when your kid wants a pony... and then an expensive car later.... YOU'VE just killed two birds with the one stone!  FREE RIDE AGAIN...

(and for those interested in really a no pollution FREE RIDE

.. use a baggie on the bottom  and light a match... there's your street legal TAIL LIGHTS!!!!  )

...and just think.. you won't have any tailgaters up your backside anymore either....

blrguy...

it's kinda hard to pay more money for a lot little metal...

the performance on that Smart isn't been reviewed too well..

(actually I don't think the gas mileage is very good for such a small 2 seater...esp.. if it drags)

VW is suppose to soon have a 70 plus mpg diesel... why won't they ship some of them to the US?

likely US versions will be in the 40's  .. maybe 50's if a stink is raised!

PLUG IN  ... looks the practical way to go... but that's the PROBLEM!!!

Telsa is already showing you can get a range well over 100 perhaps 200 miles on a charge at decent highway speeds....

        And electric cars  only costs....

a penny or two a mile to power... no road taxes... no pollution (except at source where much better eliminated...) future energy sources of clean technology-very plentiful coal, nuclear...   or WIND SOLAR WAVE energy.. etc.

batteries can be recycled and rebuilt.. repeatedly... green..and less expensive than throwaway of resources...

or even put the kids to work on the treadmill to charge up those batteries...

Then add the fact that well built electric motors don't wear out for hundreds of thousands of miles  (could be a MILLION MILES of service!!) and then a  cheap rewind a few diodes, replace the little bearings maybe.. and ROLL on DOWN the ROAD!

Yeap selling something that could last you a lifetime....  and cost pennies to run... great for the environment... potential for the billions in the world....

       JUST HOW  PRACTICAL IS  THAT?
