Wow, we are lucky to call Steinbeck Country home!
My husband Dave and I had a lovely time at the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Winemaker's Dinner at the charming and historic Steinbeck House in Salinas, CA. This event is the official kick-off to this weekend's food and wine events, and we never miss this dinner! This year the menu was on point:
Food prepared by Chef Augustin Rodriguez with Wine pairings provided by Hahn Family Wines.
Appetizers: Wasabi Tuna Deviled Eggs, 2013 Hahn Cuvee White
First Course: Gabilan Soup, 2014 Hahn SLH Chardonnay
Second Course: Spinach/Apple Salad, 2014 Luciene Smith Vineyard Chardonnay
Entree: Steak Pizzarola, Roasted Herb Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables, 2013 Lucienne Doctor’s Vineyard Pinot Noir
Dessert! Chocolate Flan Cake drizzled with Caramel & Chocolate Sauce, 2014 Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon

Thank you to the event organizers for such a lovely evening. We are truly blessed to live in the bountiful Salinas Valley that serves up an abundance of fresh produce and of course, award winning wines!
