Do you randomly do acts of kindenss for others?

For years I have been intrigued by a short article I read that had been reprinted from Glamour.  It talks about ways we can reach out to let people know that this world is a nicer place than a lot believe.  The article promotes our ability to do little things for people we don't know or may never know.  One of the reasons I like this concept is that it brings a smile to the face of so many without getting anything in return.  What you gain is the joy of giving.

Here's the reprint, it has been around for years.

Article

So, will you act randomly today and will you smile wondering what someone might think when they realize someone has done something for them unselfishly?

Being kind is something I try to practice every day. Do something for nothing. I just built a deck for free for a elderly lady.

Great reminder to do things for the sake of doing the right thing without thought of reward.  The reward will come back to the giver in some other way.

Everyone should practice random acts of kindness.  Have you seen the Liberty Mutual commercial on tv about how it comes around full circle.  I carry grocery bags from stores for elderly ladies if they appear to need help, open doors for others, pick up dropped items, etc..etc.. you never know when it will come full circle.

Fun post it is an idea.  We should all stop and look and be thankful each day for our lives and the things in it

I agree! Now- I am not as good as my wife about doing things for others. She did ask me to do something whenever I'm out shopping. If I see a woman loading up her bags and kids, ask to take her cart back for her. It sounds like somethig so easy, but my wife says that whenever someone does that for her it just means so much because she has her hands full with the bags and baby. Have a great day!!!

You're so right.  There are so many selfish people out there. Only caring about "me me me".  Stop it people. You were not put on this earth to have the world revolve around you!

WAYNE, Thanks for the reminder as the best comes from random acts of kindness that may touch a person at the moment they need it the most.

I love that story!  The move "Pay It Forward" is a great way to teach the principle to teenagers.

Thanks for the post Wayne.  We try to do nice things for people every day of our lives!  We enjoy being do-gooders!  We don't expect thanks, its just how we are!  We get pleasure in doing for others.
