Foggy Windows? Here's a Tip for Both Sellers and Buyers!

Seller Tip: Do you have a window in your home that looks like the one on the left below? This photo shows a dual pane window on the left where the seal has broken on one or both window panes allowing condensation to develop between the panes of glass. There are many different reasons why the seal can break but it's usually because of overzealous painters or a pressure washer being applied directly to the window. Make sure to tell the company that you've hired to not putglass-repair-for-home-1-370x191the pressure washer on the window. If you're thinking of selling and want to make your windows look better than they do and like the window on the right, you should contact Glass Doctor and ask if they'll replace just the pane of glass rather than the entire window. Replacing just the panes doesn't require as much time and usually offers the homeowner a great savings.

Buyer Tip: If the property that you're interested in buying has foggy windows with broken seals, get a quote from a reputable window replacement company to replace the windows and provide that quote to the seller with your repair list, if you're asking for repairs. But before doing that, make sure to get a quote from a company like Glass Doctor who will replace just the damaged pane of glass. That second quote should be substantially lower than replacing the entire window and you've just negotiated a sweet deal for yourself!
