Does this look READY TO MOVE IN to you?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godzyk Real Estate Services NH License 033394

There it was, those golden words "Ready to move in Bank Owned Home". Something does not seem right... so i had to check it out. Ready to move in means it is ready to move in. No work needed. Typically bank owned homes are far from ready to move in and with a play on words, This home is not quite ready.

Yes, there are still some bank owned homes being listed. They are great deals, however.... you need to know what you are getting into before making an offer.

You have a choice of agents. Use your choice to hire the BEST agent in your area.

LEARN THIS ONE FACT: One should know that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest Agent or Company. You deserve the best....

This looks like a similar home we saw this weekend where the agent listed it as "will go FAST"...

There is working for the Seller...and then there is writing copy that i s bit more honest and will attract the buyer that is not afraid of the elbow grease and expense in making it "move in ready/"

Well said Sally K. & David L. Hanson , i think upsetting buyers who expect clean and get "rough" at best should be one thing the seller would not want

Good morning Scott. The listing agent needs to revisit their ability to list property truthfully! A word with his/her broker about honesty is in order! Enjoy your day!

Interesting that bank advertising doesn't have to follow our rules and laws isn't it? If an agent used that wording we would probably get sued!

That certainly doesn't look move-in ready to me, Scott!  A truly move-in ready bank owned property is a pretty rare thing.

Yeah, I've come across this type of lie before, too.  In this case, you'd think they'd be better off simply removing the carpet and putting it in the dumpster than having the property show like that.  Yikes!

There was a time when banks at least replaced the flooring and repainted the interior of foreclosures.  Not necessarily the case anymore.

Hi Scott - I have seen a few move-in ready REO's, but that isn't one of them, and the agent isn't doing anyone any favors, least of all his own reputation, by making that claim.

The house across the street from me is an REO with the words "pristine condition" in the listing.  I can assure anyone looking at that home it is not in pristine condition.  There were far too many pets through that home as a rental.  The carpets need replaced and the walls painted at a minimum.

Scott- not in my world is it move-in ready.  It's a shame to waste someone's time by not offering a better and more accurate description.

That kind of looks like a bank owned house I was in last week. Man did it stink. I guess the former owner lived there for a year and half with no running water. The urine smell was overwhelming. Thoughout the small town there are rumors that meth was at the very least smoked in the house. My buyer is up for the challenge, though.

It looks like move in ready for a critter Scott.

It looks like an outline of a dead body that was not removed for quite some time.
