Delray Beach-Life’s Too Short for …

Maybe it’s the heat...perhaps it’s the humidity, but some of the encounters, thoughts, and sightings I’ve had this week just seemed a bit odd.

Life is too short to have anything but delusional notions about yourself.

                                                       Gene Simmons

For example, yesterday I was in line to pay for my purchase at Walgreens. The lady trying to pay was probably around my age.

What was holding her up?

She was holding her Smartphone in one hand trying to find the Pokemon in the store, and with the other hand trying to swipe her credit card.

I have to hand it to the young cashier.  She just smiled and exhibited the patience of Job.

Life is too short to spend hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or hottest new lip shade will mask an ugly heart.

Hallmark...are you listening?

I was looking for a card to celebrate the upcoming wedding of someone who is like family to me.  There must have been dozens of cards I read but I had a hard time finding one that was quite appropriate for my 80-year-old widow dear friend and her 80-year-old dear widower fiance, who were sweethearts in High School and found each other after all these years on …..you guessed it...Facebook!

Life is too short to live on low-fat everything.                              Kristin Scott Thomas

Hey, lady!!!!

Trying to back out of our parking space at the gym but the car in the aisle just wasn’t moving.  Note...when driving in South Florida and you can’t see the head behind the wheel...gather your patience.

I got out to see why she wasn’t moving and she informed me that she was waiting for the handicapped spot. It didn’t matter that there was a space available right next to the marked handicapped spot.

Life is too short to spend in negativity. So I have made a conscious effort to not be where I don't want to be. Hugh Dillon

Kathy,

Like Michael Jacobs stated this is a smile worthy post...no need to get aggravated by all that small stuff.   What we have found is that the less I pay attention to it, the less comes my way...and I am adding one of my favorite quotes from Sister Carita, "Love the moment, and the energy of that moment will spread beyond all boundaries."

Happy Saturday!  A

I think we all like that and can relate to it. Wayne Martin

Kristin Johnston, Waukesha County Realtor 414-254-6647 I learned about it via the lady who gives me my pedicure.

Michael Jacobs Thank you.  When you live here in South Florida, you are offered many interesting moments.

Karen Kruschka I think this summer has been hot for a lot of the country.

Barbara Todaro I tell myself at each birthday that one of the benefits of getting older is being more free to pick and choose!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I'm going to add that one to my favorites list.  I think that's what is so hard for many of us...loving the moment.

Kathy

It is a matter of training yourself, and I think you did very well in admiring the young cashier's patience!  It is finding the "good" in that moment, and trust me, I know how difficult that is...we are a work in progress.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I try very hard to find the good in people or a situation.  It may have come from a few too many viewings of Pollyanna. LOL

Donna Foerster every day offers us something to keep us on our toes, doesn't it.

Dick Greenberg I would love to take you to The Boys...our local fresh produce market.  It is an exercise in patience. And I too love the Gene Simmons quote.
