You may have missed the parade at the Bridgewater Country Fair 2016, but that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the fair fun!
The parade was tonight, my daughter and I went and boy did we enjoy it! I don't think I have been to the parade in ... 30 years? Oh my, has it been that long? I know it was when my girls were young. What was I thinking? The parade was wonderful. All those fire trucks, fire fighters, emt's, marching bands, and don't let me forget the bagpippers! I love, love, love bagpipes! It is something when you think about what they do for us each and every day. I did take photos with my phone and put together a video. I know it is a bit long, but how do you cut anyone out of the parade?
Tomorrow is back to the fair. If you are still on the fence about going, you better get off it and get yourself there! Lots of vendors, great food, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, chickens, bunnies and more! There are veggie shows, photography shows, pedal tractor pulls, tractor pulls, oxen pulls, BMX displays, rides and just more fun than I know what to do with! And while you are there, try out the mechanical bull.
And of course, don't forget to buy your raffle ticket when you are there. Although I am convinced the Jeep Willys is mine, there are still other prizes available to you.
Go on, you know you want to. Head on over to Bridgewater and enjoy! You can check out the schedule of events here.
Here are the photos I took this evening. I got all the names/locations but 2, and to those 2, I apologize. And let me take a minute to thank all the men and women that made this entire weekend possible. I know you do it to raise money for the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, but it means so much to those of us who attend. You rock!
Side note, because of their efforts in putting on the fair and parade, the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department is the ONLY self supporting volunteer fire department in Connecticut!
