That Olympic Moment   In Pursuit of Excellence

For 2 weeks every 4 years, the finest athletes gather under the Olympic banner with the Olympic flame to demonstrate their particular skills seeking the recognition as the best at the time and even the best in the world. The competition is fierce at the games and the road to get there is hardly one of ease as the athletes must train and practice and even compete in organized events along the way ever seeking to hone their skills.

The path we take in our daily business is very similar in many ways. We seek the ultimate prize which is the successful completion of the transaction and helping our clients with their real estate purchase or sale. It is the moment when we are on the medal platform.

That Olympic Moment In Pursuit of Excellence

Our training is the time spent working with our clients resolving any issues that present themselves and gaining valuable experience from those tests. Skills are honed further with the continuing education classes taken and even the extra classes offered towards designations.

The goal of all the training and competitions is the experience and gaining of confidence to compete for the ultimate in prize and recognition. Over the past 6 years, my podium moment and gold medal achievement has been the ability to close out the short sale listings I have received. it a success rate of over 95%.  The sense of accomplishment at getting a distressed home owner out from under the burden of their mortgage as a result of a family calamity.

Taking a home owner through the paperwork; guiding them through a well written hardship letter while trying to market a distressed home to a fair market offer requires patience and a keen knowledge of the short sale process as well as a strong sense of negotiating to achieve that first place finish.

The smiles of relief and tears of joy that the crowd, seller's family, openly offer at conclusion are as rewarding as hearing the anthem of one's country played while all recognize the victor.

The sense of competition is keen as the house must stand against the rest of the market and be able to garner attention so as to collect a contract. The buyer must have the patience and have an agent that understands the process and can communicate same to their client.  Communication has to be often and thorough in order to keep the attention and enthusiasm of the buyer.

The short sale agent can be into a position to have to submit documentation to the primary lien holder servicing agency, a secondary lien holder and if a government loan, a package submitted to Fannie Mae as well. It takes a strong focus and the determination to want to come out on top. This to me is my moment of accomplishment where the thrill and feeling of exhilaration is strong.
