This is one of our local teams that I have followed very closely for the last three years. The Paonia Eagles have a wonderful program and some very talented players. I've really enjoyed watching these kids play some hard hitting, but yet clean football.
In 2013 and 2014 the Eagles won the Division 1A State Championship. Last year they went all the way to the championship game, and lost a close battle with Buena Vista.
The Eagles will start off their 2016 season with a home game on 9/2 against Center, CO. That game starts at 7PM. Here's a link to this season's complete schedule.
Some games of local interest include the one against the Cedaredge Bruins on 9/30. Cedaredge will host that game. On 10/7 Paonia will host the Hotchkiss Bulldogs, and on 10/14 the team will host the Olathe Pirates. All games start at 7PM.
