Weed Cleaning for the Mystic River and CRM's

Many of you may know "Mystic River" as a novel by Dennis Lehane or the movie of the same name starring Sean PennMystic River.  I assure you it is a real place in Massachusetts.  It sees a lot of use by fishermen and boaters.

Last week I was meeting with some colleagues at Starbucks near the Mystic River in Somerville.  I stepped outside for a few minutes and saw a strange contraption going back and forth and around in circles on the Mystic River.  I learned it was a weed harvester.Mystic River Wee Harvester

To keep the river healthy and flowing invasive weeds have to be removed from the water.  The Commonwealth of Massachusetts using machines
like the one pictured and other means to remove harmful weeds from the river.

It got me thinking about how much old and probably useless information I have clogging up my databases.  We all have leads and prospects that are probably going nowhere but we keep them in our databases.  They show up as bounced emails.  They show up when we do searches.  They may even show up as actions that need to be taken.

Spend a few minutes every day cleaning out some of the things that are clogging up your database.  Keep your CRM healthy and flowing smoothly by taking out thing you do not need, want or use.  Be a weed harvester.  You will in the long run be happy with the results.
