Do You Have a Bee in Your Bonnet?

Do You Have a Bee in Your Bonnet?

Every once in a while I get an idea in my head and I have to act on it right then and there. It doesn't matter if it wasn't planned for that day, or any day for that matter. It doesn't matter that I have other things I should be doing. I just get this idea and I need to do it NOW!

I'm having one of those moments. I just decided that I need to clean out the filing cabinet where we store our office supplies. You know the stuff I'm talking about...staples, binder clips, index cards... Wait a minute! Index cards? When have I ever used index cards? What are those doing in that drawer?? Oh I know, they are from our previous corporate life!

This "chore" is long overdue and not really on my radar until today! Well, no time like the present. I'm not throwing anything away (well, I'm not making any promises), I'm just relocating to a better storage "facility" (the basement filing cabinet). I have other items that we use more frequently to put in the space!

Buzzz!

Oh yes, I think I know that bee. I will drop everything to do something else on impulse. I hope the filing cabinet is now in the condition you want it be.

Excellent point to go through all the stuff we keep and make decisions. This does make it easier to find things when needed.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson  I filled a box that I need to take to the basement. Now that will create another project! Oh well!

Jane Peters  It's practically empty!

Robert Bob Gilbert  There are more items in the basement to go through. Seems I'll be starting a donation pile!

Hi Debbie - organizing is one of those bees that could get me off track.  I know drawers like yours filled with things I thought I could use.  Time to dump them.

I do get a bee in my bonnet and generally do act on it quickly. Ah well, generally it makes me feel very productive and satisfied.

Grant Schneider   The drawer is nearly empty now. Didn't have much in there that we use on a regular basis.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD  Happens to me far too frequently!

Lottie Kendall  That's how I roll! I'll be really happy once I get Rich to take the box to the basement for me!

I'm getting a new desk delivered on Friday so I spent yesterday throwing away everything I didn't want to have to relocate in the new desk. What a mess! I had news clippings that were 5 and 6 years old, more paperclips than anyone on Earth has ever needed, and about 40 dried out markers. Looking forward to a clean slate!

We are cleaning our home office and old files go to the attic. It has been a mess for months but we are beginning to see the light.
