New Homes at The Preserve in Carlsbad
August 2016 Update
Things continue to happen at The Preserve neighborhood in northeast Carlsbad, south of the 78 freeway and west of College Boulevard. The first construction is now visible at the far east end of the complex near the entrance off Marron Road. While the majority of homes for sale in Carlsbad are resales, there are several options for new homes to purchase, including the new homes at the Ridge at Robertson Ranch.
The 156-acre Preserve was originally called Quarry Creek, and the 4 housing communities will offer 294 homes, with reportedly over 50% of the acreage dedicated to open space including hiking trails.
AGAVE – the first community to be built, a village of 88 2-story townhomes with 1420 to 1681 SF, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, plus a Master Bedroom terrace. Homes will have 2-car attached garages in all 3 floor plans. This community is under construction and the first move-in is anticipated perhaps at the end of the year but more likely January 2017 from what I've been told.
CYPRESS - 56 2 and 3-story single family homes up to 2473 SF and as many as 5 bedrooms
ACACIA - 48 attached (paired or twin homes) 2-story homes up to 1973 SF and 4 bedrooms
BLUE SAGE – a community of 102 2-story triplex homes with up to 1852 SF, 3 to 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths
Pricing at The Preserve has not yet been announced but is expected at the time the first phase of homes is released for purchase.
The amenities at The Preserve will include a recreation center with fitness equipment, parks, hiking trails, pool, playground, BBQ area and a Bocce Ball court. The Preserve is close to shopping and dining in Oceanside including a shopping center by the entrance, major commuting routes (including the 78 and 5 freeways ), medical facilities (e.g., Tri-City Medical Center), general services, and a tribal resource center.
Children living in The Preserve will attend the Carlsbad Unified Schools (e.g., Hope Elementary on Tamarack, about 2 miles away).
You can read more about the recent fossils that were discovered on the property which halted work temporarily in 2015.
Stay tuned for updates on the model homes coming soon for the first neighborhood being built at The Preserve.
