Active Rain Mini Meet Up On The Fly
We met at Grand Central Station several years ago. It was a New York Meet Up, and what a turn out. I was in the city because my parents were ill. I remember leaving Mt Sinai Hospital, grabbing a cab to Grand Central and hurrying the driver (in NY, seriously?) because I really wanted to attend the meet up.
Jill Sackler was seated at the next table. Although we didn't get to talk much that day, we made up for it with phone calls and emails. We discovered we grew up in the same neighborhood. Go figure. And Jill lives in the next town from where we lived 22 years ago, before moving to Boca Raton.
It's such a small world and all thanks to Active Rain! So when Jill called yesterday afternoon and told me she and her husband would be passing by Boynton Beach in a few hours, on their way from Melbourne to Miami, would I meet her near I-95? As they say, the rest is history.
We met at Starbucks. It was like being with old friends. I brought Richard along, and we got to meet Eric, Jill's husband. It was after dinner and here is the photo that marks the occasion. I look like a rag (don't hold that against me - it was late!) Jill has some better pics she is going to post when she gets back. But in the meantime, here you go!
