Tomato by Carol J. Timm

My Bride could not resist adding eyes to this slightly deformed tomato.

It's been tomato mania around our house for over a month. The picture below is just today's blessings. I've been trying to keep up, and doing a pretty good job of it, by eating every cherry tomato but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it today. We have been sharing the bigger ones with neighbors and our church family but it's been an awesome crop from just four plants and only three of them have really been producing.

I planted 7 tomato plants this spring.  There's an Early Girl, a Yellow Heirloom, and 5 different kinds of cherry or grape tomatoes of various colors and varieties. The bushes grew together so thick and green you can hardly walk along them.  They are producing several pounds of tomatoes per day. Absolutely, an unbelievable year.  However, my squash plants have produced one small zuchini.  No more. . .Go figure!

Bruce Walter I applaud my Bride's artistic ability and sense of humor. I would have seen the deformity and thought "I'm not eating that".

WOW Myrl Jeffcoat you should be able to keep the town feed with those tomato's! We had an excellent crop of zucchini but I'm glad we are running low now.

What lovely tomatoes from your garden!  I love your wife's clever "disguise" for that particular tomato.  I'll bet they all taste great.

Good morning Bob,

Make yourself an astonishing day.

Ah Tomatoes. Bobby, I'm so happy to see your "production" is going strong.

BTW, those are grape tomatoes, not cherry tomatoes (but just as good, I'm sure).

Good to know Bill Roberts , we actually thought we were buying pear tomatoes but someone had fun with the labels at the greenhouse.

Bob- I remember the first time I had home grown vine-ripened tomatoes.  They spoiled me for anything else.
