That One Bite At A Time Strategy For Accomplishment

I've got a few big projects that need my attention. How do I get started? Gary has a great strategy...one bit at a time. Break down the big projects in to smaller, manageable tasks. This creates a win-win. As Gary shares with us in his blog, "the overwhelming then becomes managed and the progress makes us feel good". Who can complain?

Chunks of AppleThere is that old question, "How do you eat an elephant?" Answer: one bite at a time. In real estate deals, large projects, weight loss goals, oftentimes the whole thing at first looks overwhelming and insurmountable. This is when you need to turn it into smaller bite size pieces. You can't do it all in one day, or big gulp. We did not land on the moon from proclamation to footsteps there in one day.

ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY.

But the point is, lay out a plan, create a proposed timeline.

THEN, get busy with you little bites. Keep moving forward. Overwhelming then becomes this "managed thing" and the sense of progress really feels good each day. You get closer to closing with a home, the weight loss pounds melt away week by week, the vision of your ultimate goal gets nearer and nearer as time passes, and the SATISFACTION that comes with accomplishment is awesome.

Think bite size and stay with it. Soon that goal will be achieved and you will be off to conquer your next mountaintop.
