WOW! What beautiful photos Debbie, I am so glad you took a trip to the Western Slope of Colorado and shared them with us!

Debbie, how luck you are to live amid such beauty! Breathtaking! I'm a bit jealous of the snow, as the temps and humidity are on the rise again today. But I am holding back those thoughts, soon enough I will be wishing for the heat and even humidity, LOL. 

Debbie - Beautiful photography .... and I'm so sick of our triple digit temperatures, that the thought of a little snow anywhere, makes me feel better!  But, like Andrea - I know when winter arrives I'll be wishing for balmy days!

Really beautiful, Debbie... but I'm happier where I am where it's warm. Snow is just not my thing... except in pictures!

Gorgeous photos and just today, as I am looking at the weather station on my desk, I was commenting to someone about the 91 degree temp (and 99 degree heat index), saying I was sure autmn would find us eventually.  I am sooo envious of your snow.  I love winter, but admit also love going through fall to get there. 

I love the photo. I like warm weather but love to see snow in pictures.

Love the pics but snow and August does not compute. LOL

Debbie,  We are starting to experience cooler temps here as well.  I so look forward to seeing snow on top of Mt. Hamilton soon.  I so enjoyed your photos and the story told to go with them.

Hi Debbie Laity , Many artists that paint mountain scenes always have to include the snow on the top.   I can see why.  Your photos are a great reminder that I have a deadline on a painting, although it is not a mountain scene.  It must be nice to see a sight like that at the time of the year when you don't have to drive in it at the lower levels.

I'm noticing the leaves changing colors . . .already.  It seems that this is early this year.  It's only the end of August and I don't recall seeing leaves changing for another month.  They don't really drop until the end of Oct . . . 

NOOO!  That's crazy!  Your photos are gorgeous, Debbie!  I guess this means we're going to have a short summer - which isn't that distressing to me.  It's been incredibly hot and humid for the last 6 to 8 weeks!  I'm ready for some fall...and some football!

Debbie, the clouds in the first photo look like they could be an impressionistic painting!

Debbie, It does look like it was a great day. Very impressive you hiked up Mt. Sneffles. 

Debbie- when I see photos like yours, one word comes to mind...majestic!  It's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that there is already some snow somewhere in the US!

No! No! No! No! No! No! No! It is way to early to be seeing snow anywhere!

So beautiful Debbie and I almost feel cooler just seeing the snow cap. It has been so hot here.

 We have several mountains in Washington state that are still snowcapped although they are over 12,000 feet high Debbie Laity 

That should get the skiers excited for the upcoming season for sure

Good morning Debbie.  My wife is afraid of heights.  How I get her on a plane is nothing short of amazing.  Otherwise I would enjoy hiking up the mountain, I'll leave her at the base

Good Morning Debbie - wow, you really got started early in Colorado with winter.  Hiking Mt. Sneffles would be a nice way to for me stay in shape.

I do not want to hear that word Debbie Laity , it is pretty to look at in the mountains though. I could like fall if the snow didnt come after, however i still have a week of summer to enjoy and i will be making myself take a day off and hitting the beach. Big waves coming from the hurricanes out to sea and i plan on playing in them

It's hard to believe there are places in this country where it snows in Summer. However, last year, in June, it snowed on Donner's Summit here in California.

I miss the mountains from Washington State.  Thanks for sharing.
