Cherry Blossoms

Brian,  Oh My...What beautiful photos!! Today when I was driving through the streets of my area of town, the Old East Hill, I noticed so many fruit trees in blossom...it's absolutely heavenly this time of year.  If I have time over the weekend I plan on taking some pictures of many of the older trees.

I love the picture of the sidewalk covered in pink blooms.....magical.  I once held a garden party under a large old apple tree that was in bloom. I set up tables with white table cloths and brought out various chairs and put down blankets for children. Half way though our dinner a slight breeze came up and pale pink petals showered down all around us....it was one of those moments in life I will never forget.  Your pictures reminded me of that time. Thank you!

At the previous house I lived in, we had an enormous cherry blossom tree right at the edge of the driveway near the street.  It was absolutely huge, and the neighbors would always stop and admire it when it was in bloom.  My kids where little, and they loved playing in the "pink snow" when the petals would fall.  We sold the house, but never forgot that tree.  The new buyers ended up cutting it down because of the "mess" it made.  I don't know who would ever call such elegant beauty a "mess".  We were very, very disappointed when we saw what they had done.  They are still some of my favorite trees (unlike the pin oaks which I can't stand!).  Thanks for sharing the photos, they are lovely and brought back alot of memories!
